Be A Complete Blogger

Written by Muralidharan Gopal on August 30, 2008 – 7:10 pm

Nowadays blog is became some sort hobby for people. Since there are few free blogging platforms, people create blog as they wish. Blogging is a very good past time as you can express your views and sharing information. What we need to know and need to do to be a complete blogger?

1. Copy–paste trend

I’m very sure there are a lot o copy-paste bloggers out there. It is not to do that, since it is one way of sharing information. But when you blog, writing your own write-up is the key point of having blogs. Currently, a lot of sosio-politics bloggers just growing like mushrooms, but most of them ended up in putting news from the newspapers. There are some bloggers will write some short comments or their own view below the post. It will be good if they come up with discussion post, so the readers can share their own views. Poobalan.com is one of best sosio-politic blog that I know. See yourself how he blogs even there a lot of copy –paste effects. All bloggers must avoid this copy –paste trend but you can use it when you experience “writer block”.

2. Learn how to customize your blog

Customizing your blog is one essential way for being famous blogger. Having the same theme and way of writing will make your loyal readers boring even your blog have very good write up. Rames.blogspot.com is best example I have. You can peep at his blog and see his works there. He has a lot of loyal readers. To customize your blog, you need to know some photoshop stuffs, simple php knowledge, a bit of CSS and you need some creativeness. You can google them as it is everywhere in the internet. Give your blog some life, don’t use some lame design and make your readers boring with your design.

3. Do some research on what you blogging

Producing quality post needs some research. Deep and serious research will end up with some good result. Just have a look at Hongkiat.com, I’m sure he does a good research each time he blogs. This is also one way to gain your loyal readers. Readers always look for good post which they will benefit. When your post is beneficial to them, they will come again to your blog.

I only made there “tips” but I’m sure other bloggers can add up few more at the comment section part. So, it is your turn to leave your opinion that will beneficial to all bloggers

Merdeka Memories

Written by Puvanan Nadaraja on August 29, 2008 – 9:03 pm

Merdeka… As we are enjoying today’s fascinating moments and celebrations, it is also the right time for us to look back with fond memories at the period right after the war, when the fires of patriotism were burning bright – one of the most vibrant, exciting times in this nation’s history. Let’s take a walk down the memory lane on how we started half a century ago, when our much-loved first Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman shouted “Merdeka” seven times at Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur. It was a fabulous moment for sure. Here are some of the rare pictures from Muzium Negara that portrays the most memorable moment of the Nation, 51 years ago. It was on that fateful day, 31 Aug. 1957, when Malaysia entered a new era – a time of independence, of new spirit and hope, of freedom.

"I am indeed proud on this, the greatest day in Malaya’s history it falls
to my lot to proclaim the formal independence of this country. Today a
new page is turned," Tunku Abdul Rahman, 31 Aug. 1957

Y.B. IR. DR. WEE KA SIONG
Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia,
Aras 9, Blok E8,
Kompleks Kerajaan Parcel E, Pusat
Pentadbiran Kerajaan Persekutuan
62604 PUTRAJAYA

i) Orang India datang / lahir dari anjing
iv) Pemuda India tiada telur

Sekian. Terima Kasih

Yang Benar,
Signed

Merdeka Fighters

Written by Pushparaaja Munusamy on August 27, 2008 – 5:25 pm

S.A. Ganapathy was a veteran of the communist underground resistance to Japanese occupation and postwar trade unionist in then Malaya (Malaysia).

S.A. Ganapathy, the first president of the 300,000-strong Pan Malayan Federation of Trade Unions (PMFTU) was hanged by the colonial authorities on 4 May, 1949 after being questionably convicted for allegedly being in possession of firearms. He was said to be on the way to the police to surrender a firearm, when he was arrested by the police and sentenced to hang in Pudu Jail.

P.Veerasenan was an active unionist in the 40s. He became the Secretary general of the Habour Labour Union. His brave and firm leadership made him an active unionist at the national Level. Besides being a committee member of the strong Pan-Malayan Federation of Trade Union (PMFTU), he was also the President of one section of the Singapore General Labour Union.

P.Veerasenan is introduced to the youths of today as a symbol of bravery and
sacrifice in fighting for workers rights. Among some of his great achievement along with other worker leaders were:

  1. Increased the daily wage from 55 cents to 95 cents
  2. Reduced the working days from seven to six
  3. Established 8 working hours a day.
  4. Employers must provide drinking water, housing and sanitation facilities for workers.

The history of P.Veerasenan, S.A. Ganapathy and other great fighters like him has been hidden from the public. The capitalist and the British feared them and had to put them to death.

-MERDEKA
