Be A Complete Blogger
Written by Muralidharan Gopal on August 30, 2008 – 7:10 pmNowadays blog is became some sort hobby for people. Since there are few free blogging platforms, people create blog as they wish. Blogging is a very good past time as you can express your views and sharing information. What we need to know and need to do to be a complete blogger?
1. Copy–paste trend
I’m very sure there are a lot o copy-paste bloggers out there. It is not to do that, since it is one way of sharing information. But when you blog, writing your own write-up is the key point of having blogs. Currently, a lot of sosio-politics bloggers just growing like mushrooms, but most of them ended up in putting news from the newspapers. There are some bloggers will write some short comments or their own view below the post. It will be good if they come up with discussion post, so the readers can share their own views. Poobalan.com is one of best sosio-politic blog that I know. See yourself how he blogs even there a lot of copy –paste effects. All bloggers must avoid this copy –paste trend but you can use it when you experience “writer block”.
2. Learn how to customize your blog
Customizing your blog is one essential way for being famous blogger. Having the same theme and way of writing will make your loyal readers boring even your blog have very good write up. Rames.blogspot.com is best example I have. You can peep at his blog and see his works there. He has a lot of loyal readers. To customize your blog, you need to know some photoshop stuffs, simple php knowledge, a bit of CSS and you need some creativeness. You can google them as it is everywhere in the internet. Give your blog some life, don’t use some lame design and make your readers boring with your design.
3. Do some research on what you blogging
Producing quality post needs some research. Deep and serious research will end up with some good result. Just have a look at Hongkiat.com, I’m sure he does a good research each time he blogs. This is also one way to gain your loyal readers. Readers always look for good post which they will benefit. When your post is beneficial to them, they will come again to your blog.
I only made there “tips” but I’m sure other bloggers can add up few more at the comment section part. So, it is your turn to leave your opinion that will beneficial to all bloggers

damn i hate those copy-paste bloggers who dont even put in their own two cents into the article…. i guess they are oblivious to the fact that they are looking like idiots with lesser brain functions to the whole world..
copy-paste aint a bad thing… the copy-pasted article can be used as a platform for further discussions that wud make the blog more interactive…

4) Don’t ever ever leave links in other people’s shoutboxes to come and visit your blog. They will come if they think your blog is worth visiting.
If you want people to come and read your blog, make sure it is interesting first.

I agree with #1. that applies to blogs of all genre.
#2 and #3 are points to be considered as well but it depends on the content/genre of ur blog. A photoblog like Rames’s definitely will reach out to many readers with unique look, no doubt about that but at the same time I also frequent good entertaining blogs which runs using default templates. A good researched blog is important when one is giving out tips or discussing a serious topic, but I don’t think it is a pre-requisite for all type of blogs.
Sactyr has a good point there.. I hate ‘bloggers’ leaving links in my shoutbox. It was so annoying and my shoutbox looked like a yellow page. I have removed it forever. Now I am in much peace!

Oh yea, one thing I cannot tolerate in the blogging scene would be excessive use of vulgar words/foul language. I don’t understand why some bloggers cannot put forward their ideas and opinion in decent manner. I usually minimise my presence in such blogs.
