Photography is a hobby , few people who are really passionate about it find the money and the time to indulge in it. For most Indians they are either too busy with life or simply cannot afford the time and money to do it.There are many brilliant Indian photographers in the industry who you can appreciate if you really belong to it,the whole topic seems to generalize issues to get some web hits.

It must be quite a small world when we say there are no good indian photographers, I've two friends who are great photographers and they're indians but I find that race does not even factor in if one is good or not. Does that mean my circle of friends is the only odd one out in Malaysia to have a multiracial photographer meet? I believe that Malaysians are too hung up on race and political affiliations and in that process forgot all about what's important in the process. In photography in particular I see race is no impediment in being a good photographer nor gear a matter of limitations (though I am the minority in saying this). If there are trouble finding Indians only for a photoshoot mingle around more, don't be exclusive, mix with other Malaysians that's my advise. So next time you see me a Chinese, with 2 indians, a south african, an iranian muslim and a malay, we are just photographers first and foremost and never be abash to be inclusive not exclusive.

Since i was always whinig to my gf that i need to buy a dslr someday just to try to learn how to use it she bought me one!! woooohhhhhhhhhooooooo!(there goes my bday presie for yearS!! :P )

I got a entry level canon eos 1000d which is god enough for a beginer in my view! personally i think if you are interested in learning a thing or two buy something within your means and learn how to use it properly first la!

I dont think you gonna take profesional photo's and try to make money with ur 1st dslr! :)
