In making this event a success, we are pleading to you, our members and readers to contribute what you can to the Home. We are planning to get them:

Provision:

1. Sardine 425g – RM 3.59
2. Cooking Oil 5kg – RM 12.89
3. Milo Refill Pack 2kg – RM 25.45
4. Local Rice (5%) 10kg – RM 25.50
5. Coarse Sugar 2kg – RM 2.75
6. Full Cream Milk 2kg – RM 41.90

Gifts:

1. Age 8-12   : Colouring set
2. Age 13-15 : Stationary Set
3. Age 16-18 : Stationary Set ( a different one to suit their higher secondary needs )

The sets are estimated to be around RM7/child, which roughly come up to RM340.

These are just some ideas that occurred to us while brainstorming about it. I am sure everyone here could come up with their own ideas or some maybe generous enough to part with old books or used clothes which are still in good condition.

Besides, we also would appreciate if you could sacrifice your Saturday afternoon to be with these kids.

The first MIB Photoshoot was held in Batu Caves last Saturday. It was a fun-filled event attended by 5 members and 2 readers of Mindsblog [short of 5 more members who have confirmed their participation via Facebook]. We spent 6 hours going around taking photos, besides sharing tips on photography.

Thank you so much to everyone who came, and we promise this is not going to be the last photoshoot. More to come in the future!

So far we have 11 guests confirmed their attendance via Facebook. Anyone else interested to join us? If yes, you can just show up at 9.00am at Ganesa Temple (near the staircase). Looking forward to meet everyone there! If anyone going to join us a bit later, you may want to exchange phone numbers with me – it would be easier to contact the group when you reach there. Also on Saturday we are going to have a small charity drive, with everyone contributing some money to Ms Sathiah Devi and her siblings. Her case has been highlighted in newspapers, e-mails and TheMindBB’s newsletter.

Sathiah Devi is in her 5th year of Medical Degree and from Sitiawan.She have two other sisters, one of which in UNISEL (have PTPTN loan) and another in secondary school.She have lost her father in a road accident way some time back and the only source of monetary and moral support was the mother.Apparently, the mother goes through a tough life in supporting them and having deep financial constraints. The mother goes under severe depression due to financially unable to support these bright girls and committed suicide by hanging herself.

What?

After an excellent discussion on DSLR  photography and Indians, we feel it is only right to organise a photography session with all our readers. This is not a coaching session on how to take photographs but more like a get-together and networking session, while sharing some tips on photography.
